I think you'd be hard pressed to find ANYTHING as good as the XV890 at even double the price!
Browsing the aisles at the local Guitar Barn we noticed a $600 line of setneck guitars from a MAJOR MANUFACTURER that were pretty damned good... except for the lame pickups, we thought the quality was excellent for under six Bills.
Long story short, we went straight to the manufacturer of these VERY FAMOUS guitars and started up a new partnership. We designed a new guitar form the ground up- Sweet white poplar body with Flamed maple veneer tops- DROPTOP style so the flamed maple follows the contours of the arm bevel on the front of the guitar- and then BOUND! Wow what a look. We didn't settle for a cheapo Floyd- we went with a GENUINE "Floyd Rose Special" trem system. The heel is hand carved to a perfectly smooth joint, the neck and reverse headstock beautifully bound- The look is sensational- the playability unmatched.
To give this guitar unbeatable tone we installed a pair of specially tweaked GFS Crunchy Pat pickups and a flush mounted three way switch. I don't think there's a guitar under $600 anywhere that can compete with this axe for pure power and playability.
